Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP), a unit of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), is an integrated steel plant located in West Bengal. Established in 1959 with British collaboration, DSP produces a wide range of long products, including merchant products and structural steel. It is also the only plant in India that manufactures forged railway wheels and axles. After extensive modernization, the plant now has a crude steel production capacity of 2.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
